Save-the-Child Ministries, Inc.

Dear friends and supporters of Save-The-Child Ministries,
Greetings to you in 2008! We hope you all had wonderful holidays and are also doing well in this new year graciously given to us by God.

Last year was quite a year for us. It was a year of much change both professionally and personally. And, honestly, change can be hard. But when you know that it is ordained by God, as much of our change was, you know you can get through it and come out better on the other side.

For the ministry, this past year was a year to say goodbye to the old and hello to the new. We sold the 527 Oglethorpe Avenue facility and said goodbye to not just that building, but also to the ministry programs that it housed. But we also said hello to new plans, new programs, and new opportunities to serve. And very honestly, after the three and a half years of really stressful health issues with Marv, Sara, and Jan, we are saying hello to a newfound excitement about the ministry of Save-The-Child. For several years, Jan was really feeling the burden of carrying the load of the ministry as well as the family. But now, with the residential program discontinued, new staff being added, and health issues beginning to resolution, we are all excited about the opportunities for service ahead of us in the new year.

We are pleased to share with you our 2007 Annual Report. We have included detailed information about our programs, financial information including an explanation of all of our budget changes, information about our current staff and their responsibilities, and health updates on Marv, Sara, and Jan. We encourage you to read it all so you will know what is going on here and so you can pray for us in a more specific way.

As always, we want you to know that we appreciate all of our financial supporters immensely. We couldn’t continue to help young women and families in crisis without your contributions. And we especially appreciate all of the spiritual support that goes along with the finances. We rely on the knowledge and power of those prayers on a daily basis.

We also want you to know that we are making a concerted effort in the coming year to meet with all of our contributing churches, whether through a church wide service with your entire congregation, or through an adult Sunday School presentation, or through a Wednesday evening Bible study time, or through a meeting with just the missions committee of your church. We encourage you to contact us and set up a time that we can come and update you and answer all of your questions about our services and the ways you can help.

Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your continued belief in this ministry, in us, and in the living, loving God that we all serve.

In His Love and Service, Jan and Marv Westfall
